I don't think there is a part number for the seal. People have tried loctite after reusing the same.

As for the tool there was one on the forum, picturewise but in my case we used a big hammer and chisel to remove it.

I found that since the tightening requires a ridiculous amount of Nm I left it to a proper refurbish company. In fact I left it all together as I now use a single vane pump with drum brakes! Haha

Part number is 026 45541 and you get the seal and plug.

For the tool you need a drag link socket or use the end of a crow/pry bar with a spanner or bar attached to turn it.

                Seal

Needed one of these seals last week for an s4 1993 but my Audi dealer said that they were not available. Managed to get one out of a scrap pump. Anyone bought one of these seals recently. Brian

These hold the springs and metal caps that allow the pump to be dual vane and work for both brakes and power steering.

Certainly the one I have is ages old just sitting waiting for its day but I can measure the seal if anyone wants to find an O ring of the same size.

Second option I've got a spare pump but there is a small amount of play on the shaft about 1mm in n out if that, no play side ways or up down is this normal ?

Try 026145541 for that part number, that should be it if still available.
