Are they sure? The Plug usually comes together with the seal in a small black plastic bag.

I ordered this part from independent dealer , went to pick it up today but instead of the bolt/seal they sent an Audi A2 foglamp ! http://www.s2forum.com/forum/images/smilies/scratch.gif

He assures me though that it will include the seal....I read ages ago that you should always soak that seal in the PS fluid for 24hrs before fitting it as it will rip when u tighten it up otherwise

Let us know how you got on...will pick mine up tomorrow and do it weekend ( unless they send me another random bit ! ) Anyone know the torque if there is a torque for this ?

There is another plug at the bottom of the pump which would need the pump taking off to change Hopefully mine is OK for now

Find an old 1/2" Dr socket that you no longer use (12 or 13mm ish), fit it onto a 4" extension that's held in a vice, and carefully grind off the metal from 1 O'clock to 5 O'clock, and do the same between 7 and 11 (Ish) to leave a 'peg' at 12 O'clock and at 6 O'clock. (You'll work it out!!).
                  Worked for me.

changed the top plug and seal just now , having soaked the seal overnight....too much torque will rip the seal, the old one had a nick in it , you could tell by the old plug that someone had whacked it hard with a punch to tighten it and I guess knackered the sealing ring as a result....no leak on mine after a fast drive , I didn't go mad tightening it, used a cold chisel that fitted nicely & turned with a 14mm spanner ....good luck

Cheers will try again with a bit less enthusiasm when tightening her up, sure it was mentioned they have a stupid amount of torque on the them. Not as stupid as I thought

Come to the conclusion this seal is too thick, I've split 2 so far, just put one much thinner but same diameter and it seems to be holding. Think I'll get down TPS Monday and get a proper one
