I believe I can retro fit roof rails to my 80 estate as the strengthening brackets are there regardless if it has them fitted or not.......just the headcloth to drop and holes to drill ?
Anyone got an estate they're breaking ?
Thanks in advance.
John.
I removed a set of roof rails from an Avant a few years back and at the time thought I'd have to be feeling really brave to what to try and retro fit them. The holes have got to be mega accurate and I seam to remember go through multiple skins.

Ok, I think the best idea for me would be to remove them from a donor car so I know exactly what to expect.
It's not a job I'm looking forward to.
Thanks for the info.
John.
No worry's, yeah the best bet would be to remove them yourself so you can see exactly whats involved with fitting them and take some accurate measurements.
