    7A 20V downpipe to match Bag-o-Snakes header

I'm on with yet another project and need the upper section of a standard downpipe from an Audi Coupe 20V or Audi 90 20V 7A.

I have the Bag-O-Snakes manifold which collects to a single flange. I really only need this flange with section of pipe so that I can build a new exhaust system.

Does anyone have an old down-pipe kicking around?

    Thanks

These are pretty hard to get hold of, I tried and failed a few years ago.
Normally the flange is completely shot. If I was you I'd get one made
    Good luck with your search

The flange is just a simple 3 bolt affair if I remember. Would be easier to find on the correct diameter and pcd off the shelf, or have one cut. Saves chopping up a usable downpipe if that's all you need.

Its the 4-bolt flange where it mates to the centre section that normally is in **** state IME.

I found a pattern one once might have been on ebay worth looking.

            Hmmm,

            Fair point.

            Is a 3 inch exhaust too big for a 2.3 20V 7A?

Yeah mine was a bit grotty but still usable with some washers.

He's only after the upper bit to mate to the headers which is why I suggested the 3 bolt flange.

What size is the oem exhaust?

OEM is 2.5" IIRC, 3" is too big really.

That's a shame. I have a 3 inch proper chambered silencer I was going to use on it along with a straight through to keep the noise down but high-flow.

Maybe not enough back pressure for scavenging?

Hmm, it doesn't seem the right shape to me, looks too long / tall, could be wrong though

I don't remember mine having that bend halfway through it.

If it's 2.5" is say buy a 2.5" 3 bolt flange and if the holes don't line up, just elongate the holes slightly, shouldn't be ways out.

Yeah, the ebay one has a weird kink in it though.

As i said, id get a flange like this and make it fit.

I've had a look at the part I posted above...the reference number is 70311....it fitted mine spot on ( although I de-catted it and linked it to a double skinned stainless flexi joint before the rest of the exhaust to reduce the usual cracking risk at that section )
