  • Long Shot - Coupe 2.8 Quattro Centre Exhaust Box

As per my title, I know these are rare as hens teeth (if not rarer) but has anyone got a good second hand one, or indeed know of a substitute (reasonbly priced) I was rather niave about just how hard these are to come by when buying my car on Saturday. Having been described as 'slightly blowing' I was rather annoyed to find this meant completley rusted through and near undriveable. Please help if you can! Im based in Stevenage Hertforshire and am happy to travel the south east for one! (If not happy to pay postage)

I've a Longlife stainless catback system
It's a single silencer so quite loud, but not silly. It did however drone a little at 70 but it's not unbearable
I was going mod it into my 2.3CQ but could be persuaded to part with it for a not unreasonable sum. I might even be able to get Doris to take it down to Hemel this weekend

Also got a pair of nearly new BM cats if needed

    PM me if interested

    Cheers
    Andy

maybe it could be repaired by welding a plate over or something.
My cq's centre box had already been ommited when i got it, i.e piped to the rear silencer, perhaps that would be an easier option also.
i never used to have any droning and wasn't unduly loud. the rot and blowing sealed it's fate in the end. i have a bit of a love hate relationship with my exhaust at the moment. but at least i seemed to have cured the scraping on speed humps for now

Baffles have completely gone it is as well from what I can tell as the rattle is awful at idle. Unsure about the 2.6 centre as I think they are only single entry and the 2.8 has dual entry? Could be wrong (be great if I was!)
