    81.5mm standard pistons (3b)

Since I feel forged pistons is overkill for my plans I'm looking for a set of stock pistons for 81.5 mm bore. The budget is somewhat strained at the moment so they need to be on the cheap side.

Any tips, new or used appreciated.

    Thanks!

I have two good sets of 81mm stock pistons here

As above, 81.5 is 2nd oversize

Can be used stock pistons with 81,5 bores?

          OK, my bad.
I mean standard spec. 2nd overbore pistons. I'm having problems finding OEM pistons at good price for 81.5 mm bore. So far I can get a new set of JE forged cheaper. But since I'm aming for max 400-450 HP I feel it's overkill and I worry (maybe needlessly) about excessive wear and oil consumption with the JE-pistons.

          Thanks!

          /Sven

Try Wossner - good prices and less thermal expansion than most aftermarket pistons so more suitable for an everyday road car. They will also drop the CR to approx 8.5:1 which will be perfect with your power goals

I believe I got a very good set of 2nd oversize pistons actually.

Ok, sounds interesting. Can you send some pics?
How much would you consider letting them go for?

I will take some pics for you, have to measure them as well to be sure of the size.

Dont forget the piston diameter need to be slightly less than that of the bore diameter or else there would interference.
