Wanted - sunroof panel - HELP

Folks,

After about 2 years of the S2 being in the garage getting stripped and re-built it's looking like it'll be back on the road in time for it's 20th Birthday!!

However - one part eludes me - I jsut cannot find the correct sunroof panel to replace mine after the metal clips broke.

I'm after part number 895 877 829 c and they seem to be like hen's teeth but if it can't be found on here then I've had it!

Anyone got one in grey preferably???

What part is this and is it coupe or avant?

Ie, is it the big black metal cage the sunroof fits in or is it just the cloth bit of the bit that tilts...?

Finding another with the metal clips still attached seems to be quite hard.Most cars I see have had some sort of repair/bodge to keep them clipped in.

Same panel is used on a 100/a6 btw

for the input so far guys - this part is the plastic control panel that covers the switch gear for the sunroof and holds the slide/tilt switch and interior light (all of which I still have).

However there seem to be several variants for coupes and avants and I'd already bought two that were claimed to be correct but were physically the wrong size!

I'd agree that these seem to be VERY rare compete with metal ring and clips - but you have to ask

It's a right pain in the 4rse as this is the ONLY part I need to complete the build!!

I epoxyed some solid paper clips, bent in the right shape to the panel and it works a treat.

Interesting....

looking at your repairs I might give this a go on my old panel as it looks ok cosmetically it's just the the plastic clips and metal band (that locates the panel) are all broken........you've inspired me to try a botch....sorry......innovative repair!

I guess it's worth another go while I hope that someone somewhere can find a decent one with clips intact?

Ha ha, no worries, Tigerseal works really well, is strong but allows a little flex once its set.
