What are thoughts on this turbo supplier?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2310856202...288%26_rdc%3D1
Listed as an RS2 turbo with some RS2 part numbers but S2 turbo part numbers are listed too.Comment

Personally, I think I'd rather go with a well known company with a good rep. I've used turbotechnics in the past and honestly couldn't fault the service and quality...probably not the cheapest though...
They actually list a turbo for the RS2 but don't know if its standard/recon/hybrid. might be worth investigating?

What a small world... I am now in city Cluj Napoca, Romania and turbotechnics's only Agent in Romania is in this city. And just last night after I've refreshed this thread I sent the local Agent an email and asked him if he can sell me this turbo
I will write here the response

I found a brand new RS2 turbo for 1100 Euro at a supplier...
I wonder if it's better to buy remanufactured for 800 Euro or 1100 Euro brand new?Comment

Remanufactured should/could be ok, depending on who did the work on it. I've heard stories of remanufactured turbo's failing pretty quickly because they hadn't been balanced properly after assembly. For an extra 300 euros and peice of mind I know which option I'd go for...

I was telling you above that I found Turbo Technic's UK shop in Romania, called http://turbotehnics.ro/
But I was wrong, their website names are similar but the Romanian company is not connected to the UK one.
I have found that the Romanian company is connected to this company:
melett.com
Long story short, I've ordered a brand new RS2 turbo from turbotehnics.ro for 400 EURO ( yes 400 EURO
), it came, it looked suspicious, so I've bought an OEM 2nd hand turbo from a forum member asap so I can compare them. I need 2 RS2 turbos for my projects, so one extra OEM turbo is OK.
The new turbo I got is not a RS2 turbo
It's cold side is smaller, etc, etc, nothing is the same as the RS2 turbo.
I am in another city now, so I sent a friend to them with both turbos so they can see the difference and give me my money back.
I hope they will give me my money back.Comment

I have a spare RS2 turbo that's done only about 10,000 km from new. I'm replacing it with the billet version. I'm assuming it's in excellent condition (only been run to 1.5 bar max), but it's still on the car so no photos at the moment.
Send me a pm if you're interested.
Cheers,
