Plastic top of fuel pump ... Bucket ... in boot

Right. Been hunting with beer paid assistance from monkey magic. Found this.

Steve says it's called a bucket. But the plastic housing on top of the fuel pump has three cracks in it as can be seen in photo on the right hand side. The smell was coming from there and with engine running you can feel air being blown out. Covered it with some filling ptx instant gasket and the smell has gone. So I need one of these.

I did say basket... what are the 3 lines the banjo is clearly the feed the other visible one is the return.
I assume the 3rd going up higher is from the charcoal canister?
It looks like the banjo union on the feed has rotted and expanded cracking the plastic housing.

if its the same as a 80 2.6 quattro then I should have one unless the old man has had a fire and burnt it.

I agree as Human Joist might have wanted it being an upstanding member in the community.
Alternatively.......You say that.... but sometimes it's the best thing to save yourself all the hassle of holding onto parts for messers as when you do try to help others unless your literally giving it away you usually never hear from them again. There are some decent people out there who know a fair deal when it's staring them in the face!!Just my experience.
