    ABY Water Rail + MFTS

I keep getting the low coolant warning on the S2 even though it's actually at the correct level. After a bit of investigation I've found that the joint between the MFTS and the water rail is wet and leaking which is filling the MFTS connector boot with coolant and presumably shorting out the switch.

A new MFTS might sort it but I'm worried that the water rail may have cracked and so would like to have a spare one kicking around for when I start to dismantle things to fix it.

So, does anybody have a spare ABY water rail kicking around, preferably fitted with a good MFTS.

    Thanks in advance.

Have you checked if it could be the rubber gasket on the manifold or the short rubber pipe from the thermostat?

Mine a doing the same and has knackered the mfts. Check the rubber coolant pipe directly above the sender as mine was leaking. There are three I rings and a funny shaped gasket that seal the water rail against engine. It may be one of those

Thanks for the advice. Wouldn't surprise me if it's a rubber pipe issue as I had to replace my main coolant pipes last year. Seems right that they might all start going around the same time. I'll have a good look next time I'm out in the garage.

        Cheers

Surely low coolant switch is in the header tank?

It's the same flashing icon on the dash for overheating as low level. So if the mfts is playing up you will get the suspect overheating flashing light
