Audi 80 Coupe/ Saloon/ Convertible

i'm putting the feelers out for a standard B4 based car for the missus. we bumped into a perfect old 80 saloon n the lake district at the weekend and she was impressed at how good condition it was for it's years. her old car has been (literally) driven into the ground and it's time for something new. she knows my obsession for these cars and i'm hoping that my brainwashing is rubbing off on her now!

so, in short a car around £1000 that's been really well looked after, non intergalactic mileage, 2 litre engine or under (might consider a diesel) and not fannied with silly wheels etc. evidence of a cambelt change would be nice too.

What you want in MHO is one of these beauties.They are the newest of audis B3,B4 80 C4 A6 cars. As you want 2.0 or under go for the 1.8 20V engine.I have driven a superb one and was seriously impressed and of course it's good on fuel!! I love the 2.8 we have but wouldn't turn my nose up at a 1.8.Better than you think!

I might be tempted to sell my B4 1993 Audi 80 2.3 saloon (if the engine isn't to big) Silver with 95k ish. Been in the family since "95" its been service every year, brake fluid and antifreeze ever other year. Send me a pm if your interested.

Tell her that one last year in wales i think? actually got on the main BBC1 news for mounting the pavement and overturning upside down and it still looked perfect. No deformation of the windscreen at all.The person inside unscathed.

Nice 80 2.3 there They are not too bad on fuel in my experience.
