    S2 out t4/5 in !

Am thinking about having a t4 or 5 in place of the s2. The s2 gets hardly used and a day van would be much more useful and something new to play with. Any thoughts or ideas peeps ?

I have an S2 and a T4 and would rather have the S2 any day.... Mind you I have a 1.9TD and its slow as.... Even my old 102bhp T4 was still nothing compared to the fun I get with the S2. Saying that I wouldnt wanna be without either really as the T4 has saved me shed loads of times with things I needed it for (See renovating a house)

Yep I hear you on that. I've had the s2 for over ten years now and still drives like new though I do drive like an old man most of the time and the rest it's stood in the garage. I'm thinking someone would get more fun from it. Have been pondering on a day van for a while and think it's time for a new chapter.

Don't think there is such a thing as a cheap t4 anymore

I love my t4, bought it several years ago as a standard van but fitted windows, rear seats and carpeted, curtains etc.. And it has been amazing and been everywhere in it, always take the van when going in holiday and tow the track car
          2.5tdi is a must, I had a 1.9td and it struggled

If its a t4 you want the 2.5 and not the 888 as its got low gearing to carry 1t from memory Ex aa 102Bhp tunable to 150 from memory. T5 1.9 is a good reliable lump and cheap to maintain but not got much go. The 2.5 in the T5 is best but can suffer from cam wear, head issues, water pump failure, DMF and OS drive shaft but its what I would recommend. Make sure you have full history and have a good test drive and that will help.

Here's my South African T25 2.5 10v turbo bus. Great drive with plenty of oomph can carry/tow almost anything and seats up to 8 in luxury. Later T4/T5 2.5tdi way to go and keep the S2

Mines an 888, as in 800kg capacity with 88 hp. should actually now read 8170
