Not personally, but I think I'll stick with the ones from QRSport.

i have the black ones on at the mo, not much differnt really, the weak point is always the bearing, its a crappy little thrust race, even the QRS which is a sphearical OD unit isnt the "right" type of bearing, as to do the job properly it should be an angular contact bearing, but if QRS one's last 10times longer than OEM parts then no doubt they are werth the money.

Ubernugen? Martyn sells the exact same thing!

Please ask Martyn at VAG before you go off and waste time & money. We here in the States know of Ben at Ubernugen. Not a bad guy but he does get stuff from the same place that Martyn does.

          Hi all.

IIRC the problem of sourcing high perf. top mounts has already been covered in another thread, with the sourcing of a Company who makes some very nice ones from alloy.
They looked very neat and "racing", and will definitly be better compared to what I'm suggesting right now, but I'll go ahead and then everybody will take his conclusions:

OEM top mounts, including the blue ones (known to be more durable compared to the green ones) seem to fail in a short time due to the collapsing of the bearing part inside the rest of the mount (my drawings are a quick job done right now "by memory", so take them for what they are):

Since I had already sourced a set of blue ones, I just thought I could improve theyr strenght and lenghten theyr life by inserting a rubber ring inside.
Nothing high tech. Drove the car with them for 3-4 months and they seem working decently.
If you decide to go this route, get some blue mounts from Martyn and find a suitable piece of rubber ....

              Very innovative I must say....

What would be the correct durometer rating for this type of ring? Where would one source such a ring?

I'm very famous for my innovative inventions....

Apart form kidding, I think there shouldn't be that much concern about duromiter rating on it. You're going too "technological" for what this is supposed to be used for. The point of inserting this rubber ring is just to avoid the mount to compress over the point where it collapses.
I've used two slices of an old, partially cnackered snub mount....

Old pasta works just as well Marco!

I always remember Durometer ratings from the old sketeboard days Kryptonics etc..... That is the only time I've really come across the use of the rating system.

                  Sorry for hijacking the thread....

Nice little job of tracking. All new to me.

The Sellholms are nice. I think they are Swedish? 2Bennett also make similar but the camber/caster adjustment looks easier on the 2Bennett.

The sellholms doesn`t have camber or caster adjustment, they are just uniball topmounts. Number three from bottom left to the right in the picture is for the S2.

I was actually talking about the eccentric one with the 3 studs. But you are of course right about the S2 mounts.
