    1x 3B Alloy Centre Cap

    Hi Guys,

I've recently bought a set of nice shiny 3B alloys but they only came with three centre caps.

Don't suppose anyone has a spare one lying around?

    Thanks
    Gordon

Found a couple I think are 3B ones, all scabby but may be able to be polished?

I'm offshore at the moment so unable to open the pics of the center caps, arrrgh. If they're the same as the ones on the alloys i bought i'll buy them all of you, or just the one if you don't want to sell them all?, I'll also take the cobra hose of you as well. I've moved from Wishaw now and back in Stornoway, not so easy now to pop through to see you. If it would be possible for you to post everything when you get a chance that would be much appreciated, obviously i'll pay P&P for whatever is needed. PM me with a price for the lot and your payapl add and i'll wire the money across.

On a different note, think i might have asked you this when i seen you last but how does the temp gauge on your S2 behave when cruising along? Mine always drops to two notches above the 50 when cruising but creeps back up to 90 around the town. I changed the thermostat years ago when i first bought the car but that didn't make a difference, bugging me now that i'm finally getting some use out of the car and would like to know on way or another if this is actually normal behaviour?

              Thanks
              Gordon

They look the same, 6.5cm across. Can I email you pictures?

Drop me a PM with your new address and I will get a price posted, I have 5 caps, dont need any of them.

Gauge should stay on 90 once warmed up, maybe creep up slightly and fall back as the fan kicks in when stationary.

The MFTS can get wind chill and read lower at speed depending what shrouds you have removed and if its still in its rubber boot.

Normally I would say thermostat if the temp is fine when stationary/slow, and drops at speed, but the MFTS can play funny ******s.

Hmm you got me thinking now. When i first bought the S2 i robbed the MFTS of another 2.3 10v i had at the time and fitted it to the S2, can't rem now why i did that as it was years ago, however the MFTS from the 2.3 10v is still in the S2. I remember one was a 3 pin and the other a 4pin. Not sure if that makes any difference to it's operation?….

4 pin are the original ones, 3 pin are the replacements that are available now, tend to be more problematic/issues with readings.

If yours is consistently speed related I do not think its the MFTS, but thermostat or MFTS getting windchill.

Received the email with the pics but still can't open it, i'll try and view them tomorrow of a windows computer. Sometimes my macbook can't open pics for some reason.

Yeh the temp gauge is always speed related, since i've already change the thermostat i doubt it's that, infact there was probably nothing wrong with the one that was in it. Wind chill does sound plausible but i've tried with the rubber boot on and off and didn't make a difference. I really need to get an OBD socket plumbed in so i can read the temp with VCDS. Theres always something that needs fiddling with eh, i'll get her running spot on one of these days he he. I'll report back tomorrow regarding the pics. Cheers mucker.
