Just to confirm guys this is the parts that I need.

This is a rear hub assembly that I have and I will take it apart and have it machined to take the 82mm wheel bearing and then press a front style flange into the bearing.

I have special drive shafts coming that allow the use of the front outer cv joint on the rear.

Does this all make sense. Cheers des

I would not recomend reboring from 75 mm to 82 mm on cars other than drag only.

Ok Albert have you saw failures of the hub casting when it has been bored to 82mm? At its most narrow there will be just under 4mm of casting to hold the bearing. Then the casting gets larger at the root. Are there any solutions using the small hub bearing and large cv joint? Will an advant s2 hub assembly work on my coupe suspension?

I see no reason to go for large bearing.

I had read on here that some rs2 spec s2 cars had broken rear cv joints while launching so thought upgrading would be a good idea. But maybe not.

It is not a mater of large bearing rather week shaft. But there is no known to me shafts avalibe with large ends for large bearing for Audi S2 Coupe for rear.

Albert there is a user on here with name Biturbo who gets custom strong drive shafts made in a Russian tank factory. I have got a set of shafts coming from him that on the back are made to take the big front cv joints. So machining my rear hub casting and using the correct flange and big bearing will allow me to run his uprated shafts. Should be the stongest setup I hope.

You need to machine the outer radius of the hub carrier and press a sleeve on to provide some additional strength. Personally unless you are doing full bore launches all the time I don't see the need for this hub swap although I understand what it's like when you get the bit between your teeth

Have you any pictures of the support pressed on the outside of the hub? I wonder if it's really necessary? Will chat to the machine shop tomorrow.

No pics I'm afraid mate. Seen it done on coupes with RS2 hubs. As you have found there is not a massive wall thickness left on the rear hubs once they're bored out. Probably be fine but I'd go belt and braces

Yep I will chat to the machine shop and see what they can do. Can you remember how far onto the housing these sleeves fitted? Even an approximate would be fine.

Des, sorry I missed this post. From memory (this was at least 6 years ago!) the pressed sleeve was around 25mm deep

Albert a question for you please mate
URS4 front hub is wider than S2 front, i.e. means the wheel ET needs to be higher as wheel sticks out more?

That's no problem I got sorted out with some hub's and the machine shop is making the collars for them. I'm having them made a slight interface press fit but think I will tack them on witch high nickel rods too. Do you know if others weld these on?
