Have checked vagcat and the ABY is 034121492D, the AAN 034121492 and of course the diagram shows no difference!

AAN is different.

How is it different?
The connection between water manifold to the cross over is rubber and AAN and ABY's had the same turbocharger set ups.

Don't think they are different at all to be frank.

Of course those things are the same, but the power steering pump setup is completely different, hence the ABY pipe is routed slightly different to go around the p/s pump mount.

AAN doesn't fit the ABY, shape is slightly different

Right but he could bend it....beats having to pay through the nose for an ABY unit.
