Hoffer RS2 Turbo swap for standard RS2 Turbo

    Hi guys,

I'm currently after a standard RS2 Turbo to purchase or if someone wanted to do a swap with a Hoffer RS2 Turbo that i have we could go down that road.

Basically the chips i have are for a standard RS2 turbo so not sure how they will perform with the Hoffer RS2 Turbo which is an RS2 coldside with a K26 variant hotside, 360 deg bearings etc. I took the turbine and compressor casings off to take some measurements and clean the blades so they would aligning properly when back on the car.

This turbo was used by a previous forum member who said it smoked a little on startup then cleared. Can't say for sure if it was the turbo that caused the smoking as the lad had the engine apart doing various things so could have been several things leading to smoking.

However, since i've not actually tried it myself yet i can't confirm if it smokes on my car.

I'm not looking to sell the Turbo on it's own unless i have a replacement as it went well with the MRC high boost chips on the previous owners cars. I also have high boost chips but not the same as the previous owner.

Anyhow guys, if theres any interest drop me a line.

    Cheers

      Turbo

Hi mate, i suspect finding a standard RS2 turbo will not be that easy but if i do you can certainly have the Hoffer one if still on the hunt. Cheers.

Buy a billet RS2 turbo from Iroz Motorsport, or a European supplier, less hassle in the long run.

More smiles per miles after the purchase price is forgotten / your wallet has recovered.

Yeh i may have to go down this route yet if one doesn't turn up. I wonder how a billet RS2 turbo would perform with the high boost chips kicking around for the standard RS2 turbo? The problem with me is that i live on an island and taking the car to a reputable tuner is a major ballache. Plug and play is far less hassle at the moment.

Surely prj can do you a chip for this turbo? I mean without custom mapping.

About the smoking with this turbo, I have heard this more than once from other forum members. I got one unused waiting to be installed so no first hand experience yet.

I've messaged PRJ several times now regarding a map for the 7400 turbo but no reply. Perhaps he's a busy man so don't want to pester him too much.
