Might be worth a look on some of the B5 S4 forums, seem to be a common upgrade on them.

I've changed mine from S2 stock (12 or 13mm) to RS2 ARB (16mm) with PowerFlex mount.
              In the front too.

And the upgrade is a very good option.
              Is like a spring change.

Eric, I'm pretty sure they say that B5 RS4 Neuspeed ARB can be used for the rear of an S2 Avant also.

Neuspeed should be able to verify same.

I have one on my S2 Avant and it makes a big difference to the positive.

Mine snapped and I drove it for a while without anyARB until the replacement Neuspeed I bought arrived so I got a second chance to fully appreciate the upgrade.

Can't remember the cause of it snapping, but it didn't / wouldn't stop me from buying another.

There is an RS2 front ARB fitted to the front of the Avant. If I could only have one ARB upgraded, I choose to do the rear.

Would recommend it for your blue S2 Avant. Rear first and then see do you want to do / need to do the front with an RS2 ARB.

Anything sleaze to do with upgrading the Avant, ask and I might have experience / know the answer.

Hope that helps re the RARB.

I am not sure, a lot of people use them on s2 avants with -30mm

Dont think it is adjustable for preload - isn't this normally done by shortening (or lengthening) one of the drop links? In which case, I would imagine custom drop links would be needed?

You really don't want preload. Some are made so when you lower the car the bar pick up point is then preloaded if not changed. Yes sometimes you could make a shorter linkage to stop this, just depends on the bar design.

Cant see why it would have any preload, assuming the ride height is level on each side. I've run one on mine for years with the car lowered without issue. If i could only choose one modification this would be it, really does transform the car.
