I have a full set of 5 audi competition wheels which were OE for your model. Tyres are not brilliant and alloys are not perfect.

That's same as the spare in the a4 and the a6. Shame they're corroded and have old tyres otherwise I'd only need two!
I'm thinking now I may as well put the a6s rs4 reps on as they're quite new with tyres too BUT what to put on the a6?
I have some 245/40/18 from a v8 c5 but as it was a wide body I'm guessing they'd be too much for the a6 even without the spacers. -anyone know if they ll go?
Whilst the run out model 1.8 TqS got 17s as standard, I'm certain the 2.8s never had the option, 16s only from start to finish, a sole wheel design exactly as above.
However, I'd recommend B5 S4 Avus 17s, perfect oem look imo, car feels much more sure footed, planted and rolls a lot less. I've bought three sets over the years now, last set was £100 iirc. 225/45 R17 tyres are common and cheap too.
I like the Avus-have an s2 avant with a set but she won't be getting those
Weren't the s4 Avus ones made from chocolate and Audi had to replace many sets?

There is set of audi s4 wheels and tyers ,same wheels as s2 avus but in 17 inch and 45 of set.
I wanted them but offset is wrong for my a6 c4
