couple of standard seat bases

No major hurry for these. I have the Mk3 Gold Recaros in my coupe and they're great seats but the bases are a bit high and not height adjustable. I think they can be swapped over with standard coupe seat bases. Might need drilling, bolting and/or welding. Not sure. But if you're chucking out a couple of old velour early coupe seats I wouldn't mind the bases.

I'm on Charlie's computer at the moment so i don't have much time.

The glorious Velour seats from your Coupe have lived on and are currently occupying my B3 Saloon, their a vast improvement over the base model items that were fitted when I got the car! Even the rears fit perfectly but I need to figure out some mounting points to secure the backs, the bench is a straight fit which is nice. However their only temporary solution as I have a pair of RS2 Recaros destined to go in that car, they're a bit bent as they came from Charlies smashed car but nothing I can't sort out.

I still have the bases from the original seats I removed, however I slung them on a bonfire at work to get rid of the foams/cloth so my local recycling center would accept them. That said I could sand blast them off and I'm pretty sure they'd be reusable. I treated myself to blasting cabinet for Xmas along with various other tools for rebuilding turbos as I'm looking at offering a rebuild/upgrade service. I also have a shelf full of K24/6/7/8/9 KKK units I'm going to make some interesting hybrids with. Balancing and machine work will be shipped out to Turbo Technics...I have three good number 8 K26 hotsides as well as some other rare housings

Anyway enough waffle about that...I was going to scrap the bases this week, however I'll check that their still serviceable and if they are their yours for the cost of delivery.

That would be awesome. who DOESN'T want a pair of nice toasted seat bases eh? If they aren't really salvageable I could hang on until you put the Recaros in your B3 if the bases would then be free from the velour seats? No major hurry at all. I have enough jobs to do here to keep me going for quite a long time.
I have to admit I'm rather jealous of your blasting booth. My mate in Germany has separate booths for different grades of grit and I was like a kid in a toy shop when I visited.
Maybe at some point I'll regret all of this madness and buy an S2 again? If I do that I will no doubt spend a lot of time transferring across all the best bits from the CQ before selling it on. Or I won't sell it at all and my missus will go back to losing it because I have too many cars and only one 4rse (she's had a break of a few years now).

is it a full pair of seats mate? It's just the bases (metal frames) that I need so I can chop 'em off and put them on my Recaros.

If you don't need the leather and foam I'll whip them off

aha. cool. yeah, I don't need the foam and leather. I will just end up cutting off part of the metal farmes to fit to the recaros, which came out of a Golf and do fit but are slightly high and have no height adjustment.
