    I need a broken 3B or 7A distributor

I'm trying to obtain a 3B distributor with a broken plastic gear .
Maybe someone has one lying around .

The goal is to take it apart and try and machine an oil seal in it .
I 'd rather try this on a broken one , then to destroy my good
    dizzy .
Results will offcourse be posted on the forum .

    Thx

Right now there's no oil seal in the distributor .
I'm gonna take one apart , put it in a lathe , and
cut a groove to put a small shaft seal in it .
That ought to keep the oil from entering the dizzy cap .

Correct. There is only a "felt" type seal that won't last forever.

        Good idea.

Check your breather system if oil's getting in the dizzy!

Exactly...If your distributor is leaking oil then you have an issue with the crank breather system. Look there first.

Yes I know about the crank breather system .
It's been compleately renewed and cleaned .

              But still , I think it's a nice thing to try .
If only I could find that -garbage bin - dizzy .
