So I have read everything in the "hacking the motronic ecu (audi rs2)"- very helpful and did a bunch of Porsche DME reading... why not take it a bit further. This is the only place with any kind of audi motronic discussion. I figured I would tinker on my M2.3 before I play with m2.3.2 or M2.4

What I have kinda figured out...
    S2 3B - 404
    200 3B -404A - 100% interchangeable with 404
S4 AAN -551A -similar to 551AA but different mem locations
S4/S6 AAN - 551AA - similar to 551C but maps reversed? different mem locations
S2 ABY- 551B - looks interchangeable with 551C, maybe some different mem locations?
    RS2 ADU - 551C

I have a US 20020v, so "same" ecu as 3B S2, but different factory maps as I found. As of yesterday I running a 3B s2 fuel/ignition chip for my 200 and have found it to be smoother. Hard to tell if there is any power difference, but just feels better on part throttle and up top.

I am not trying to steal business from the guys who pioneered the art of motronic tuning. I know 034 has that tunable switchable eprom at some point .... so why not open source up some of this stuff like the Porsche and BMW guys ? It is going on 20+ years old....

There is enough info in that thread for anyone who has any tuning experience and an emulator to tune his car to 300whp.
This can be achieved by taking ADU software and modifying 6-7 maps.

    What else do you want?

    Protip:
Start by buying an emulator if you are remotely serious about this.

Thanks prj, I have been looking at the emulators. Ya it is needed.

I can see adu information is a great starting point for aan, aby....but not 3b. So far all i have for comparison is the s2 404 and the 200 404A(subtle differences) With some standalone knowledge i can kinda pick out the maps, but without winols or 3b.xdf or even outside help i cant quite put a name to each of the maps.

3B is very similar, all of the info that applies to AAN and ADU applies to 3B as well.
If you actually read the thread and the info on www.motronic.ws, you should be able find and identify fuelling and ignition easily.

If you can't find the maps using that info, then take your car to a tuner.
This is really basic stuff... and no, no one is going to spoonfeed you anything.

Once you have shown that you understand the basics, you will be helped by others.

I am not necessarily looking for power... I drive 2-4k miles a month for work and would like to make a "economy chip". With various tune tweaks I got my '01 1.8t Jetta to 38mpg highway and 29 in the city. All while running 22psi mbc on a k03/k04 I built. did 30k in miles on that setup and it was awesome, then sold it to start new 200 project. 5-6yr ago my old 200 20v avant got 36mpg on a long one tank trip, but what i did not know i had a failing 250kpa map sensor....2 weeks later spun some rod bearings...timing was a bit off since there was no map output.

Now i am doing a 3.6 v8 cq swap with motronic 2.4 and that is where ill being trying to make power...but that is down the road. just needs to run first.

again thank you. it can be hard to sift through what useful information has already been posted. I am a spi based software reseller(not a tuner) who does me7.1 and up. Just trying to go back to the motronic basics to learn the black art for myself.

Ill be back when i am ready.

              1. Disable lambda control at part throttle.
              2. Lean mixture to 15.8-16 AFR

MAP sensor does not affect fuel delivery or timing on this ECU in any way, shape or form.
