  • VEMS Display Android application

    Hi,

don't know if you noticed but VEMS has made an Android application. I have put together a Bluetooth transmitter for it and connections for power and it seems to work pretty well. Much better/faster than the LCD display. It is almost realtime (a tad slower than on the PC).

    take a look here:

I used a cigarette lighter/USB transformer and took 5 Volt from it.

Can some one look at my blue-tooth configuration if something is wrong?
I have a good blue-tooth connection between my VEMS and Tabblet.

But the Android VEMS app does not make a connection.
Is there something wrong in my RS232 to blue-tooth adapter?

Did you pair your Android with the bluetooth device ? Settings -> Bluetooth -> Add bluetooth device (or something like that)
VemsDisplay doesnt display any devices that aint paired .

                    VemsDisplay isnt avaliable for apple.
If you have an app for apple that communicates via the AIM-protocol and supports bluetooth, you could probably make it work.

Yes i did pair the app. I can see the blue-tooth RS232 adapter in the app.

I will try some more settings when I'm at my car tomorrow.

Just to by sure, Is it possible to make a connection with the engine off?

Yes, engine off is OK but the Ecu has to be powered on.

I also set up this about a month ago. In the AIM mode, it changes the config values, so be careful, your map could change.
                          Cheers

With 1.2.x firmware it shouldnt happend.

To be 100% safe, you should make a little adapter between the rs232 port in your harness and your bluetooth device, where you only leave TX, Ground and 5v.
If you ditch the RX cable, no info can get back into the ECU.

I use 1.2.2 and it happens
cutting the rx communication is not a good solution, it is patching a problem not solving it.

IMHO developers should solve this issue, rather than applying temporary solutions.
                              Cheers
