  • no spark VEMS

    Hello All

As per the title. I am not getting any spark at the moment using Vems AAN ecu.
the car is a 3B, pin swap has been completed. the car has previously been running using this configuration.

I bought the car from ian4455 as an unfinished project however the car started OK when bought. since then the engine block and head has been changed for a different unit with forged internals ect. no changes have been made to the pin configuration for the ECU.

The coils fire when using test mode on vems tune. i cant seem to get a secondary trigger when cranking to fire the coils. could this be a broken hall sensor?

I have done continuity checks on the hall sensor wiring. OK also the 5V supply is good.

I have also double checked the secondary trigger has had the polarity reversed.

    setup is as follows:

Coil conversion using 5 TFSI coils. still using hall sensor in dizzy as a trigger.

    Firmware 1.1.95

attached is the trigger log and the config file

Have you don't the pin swap on the firing point sender plug?
This is a specific thing to change to run vems

yes I have swapped the wires for the G4 crank home sensor. to double check I switched them both ways and the trigger log was the same.
im new to this so it may be an error in the config. the car would run before I removed the engine.

      Thanks

Ok after some investigating I have spark and the coils firing in the correct order.

secondary trigger wasn't been seen because the pin was pushed too far into the flywheel.

attached is the current trigger log.

Am i right in thinking the secondary trigger is pulsing every 360 deg? my understanding is the hall sensor should mask every other 360 deg. resulting in the secondary trigger appearing every 720 deg.

I have also confirmed the pin and the hall sensor window line up. hall sensor gives 5v most of the time and 0v when in the window.

Can anyone advise me on trigger settings not sure mine are correct. using audi trigger div by 3.

        Thanks

use at least div by 9 or div by 27.

now using Div by 27. I also had the polarity the wrong way round for the crank sensor as I had switched it several times. now no trigger errors.

I have similar problems, I use the adapter cable to switch the crank home pin so that should be OK.
I installed the standard audi config with cam hall inverter.
When I hook up motronic (with LMM) it fires right up. I installed the standard rs2 injectors in stead of the deka 630's
I do not get trigger errors, but no spark.
              What could it be?
