  • Zeitronix and windows 8.

Not sure this is in the right section, there isn't one for data loggers so this seemed like the closest.

Anyway my question, is anybody here using a ZT2 in conjunction with Windows 8 and if so were there any problems downloading the software on to your laptop? I've treated myself to a new machine (HP 15-n096ea) and it didn't occur to me that the Zeitronix software might not be compatible with Windows 8, as far as I can see it isn't, the most recent operating system mentioned on their site is Win7.

I'm a bit of a technotard so it's quite likely I'm worrying about nothing but any pointers would be welcome..

Doesn't look good - just use your old laptop rather than drop your new shiney one http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.shtml

Windows 8 - work of the devil… absolute pants IMHO. Stick with Win7 - sorry to be so blunt but don't see you have any other options. ZT2 is really nice product !

No worries on the blunt answer Paul, if anyone's going to know the score it's you.

Bother, I know anyone who works in IT hates Win8 with a vengeance but to someone like me who probably only ever used 10% of Win 7 it doesn't seem so bad, in fact other than not being able to download the Zeitronix software I don't have any complaints.

Trist, I don't have another laptop, I smashed my old one into it's component parts when it enraged me and I have to give the one I was borrowing back stripped with a fresh XP install, besides it needs to be plugged into the mains the whole time and is beyond slow. The whole point of buying a relatively sturdy new one was that I could use it for everything. I can probably have the use of the old for a while more, just have to hope Zeitronix bring out software compatible with Win8 or buy another machine for workshop use which I can see the sense of.
