  • Vems ign based idle cold start

    Hello
    My car idle fine with ign based idle setup But when cold it wont idle for about a min or two
    I have to keep it alive with some throttle
    Is it my Cold start setup i need to make change in? And What change more or less fuel?
    I havent made Any changes in it since i started with ign based idle

    Cold start is set to -10 and aims at 1200 rpm

    Once the engine has been on for 30-60 sec the problem is gone

    Any one Got an idea?

        the same problem over here
        when i do a cold start the engine barely keep running on low revs and after a minute or so it turns very well
        i dont think this can be solved because i dont use the idle control valve anymore,it's deleted
        i have played with the cold start adjustments in vems but no results
        audi coupe quattro b2 2.2 20vt project (573hp-626nm)
        TWINCHARGED power,zero lag
        AEM W/M injection

          unfortunately you need a bit more air at cold start.. maybe open your throttle a litte bit more and retard the timing when it gets warm to come down with the rpm at idle

            Hmm Maybe less fuel with less air?
            I dont know yet But Yes Could open it a bit more and the foxit with timing so it runs fine when hot

              Im running 10 or 11 deg timing in idle
              Higher the. It runs higher rpm Then it should be lower If i open TB more

                you need more fuel when the engine is cold, if you lower your fuel, it won't run better.. try to open the TB a litte bit and let fuel the same.. but send me a log or config anyway

                      First, I would quickly try more after-start enrichment for the relevant temperature range When cold most of the fuel is not in a combustible state - condensed on the port walls etc.

                            Agree with error. I aim for a mixture of about 0.90 when cold, and only try to get it to 1.00 after engine reaches 50C in coolant.
                            Check afterstart enrichment and also disable lamda control for up. To 50C temp while adjusting your enrichment curve for the above lamda
