The calipers I just bought are meant to be leading. On my S2 the calipers are trailing. I've tried to sort this out in my head, what do I do to adapt them? Is it simply putting the right one on the left or do I have to do something else? Calipers are SEAT Brembos. They don't have a cross over tube but the bleeder and the inlet seem to be the same size. Anyone know if the pistons are different sizes on these calipers??

Bleed screws must always be at the top, and if you had crossover pipes, they must be at the bottom. On differential bore calipers, the discs must pass through the smaller piston first.
You should be able to see the bores without pads fitted, no??
If you swap them side to side, and they are differential bore, the pistons will be wrongly positioned - and so will the mountings!!! The leading (smaller) bore will be at the top on a leading caliper, it needs to be at the bottom on a trailing caliper. If you rotate them around the disc on the same side as intended, they will be in the right place - but then the bleeds won't be on top.
Maybe you should fit these to the rear instead?!!!! Lol.
Hope that helps anyway.

He he... Nope, these go on up front. Rears will be a whloe other deal.
Anyway. I checked my calipers out. They do not have a cross over pipe. The bleeder is the very same size as the inlet, M10 x 1.5. This means that they are easy to turn into trailing (right now leading).
I will use these calipers with a 314 x 30 slotted disc, possibly a Brembo, most likely a A8 stock disc that I'll groove.Last edited by Henka; 15 July 2005, 16:45.Comment
