The 314mm disc will fit straight on with your setup, as long as your carriers have not been machined and they are Rs2 carriers.
If your current setup is 314mm without any issues of pad contact area then these will work.
BTW SEAT carriers are £35 a pair and 1 hour on a surface grinder.
Then you can have 323mm discs if you have 17" wheels.

OT: Yep, Swedish women are pretty d@mn good looking in general. But, they KNOW they're good looking. That makes them... hard to impress.

And there is another side to this whole brake tuning, I mean, we Swedes need brakes if anyone... I mean, I want to be able to hit the brakes when I see a pretty lady - since there's pretty ladies every where over here, the brakes run hot. Hotter than Swedish girls, on a hot day, hotter than... y'all know.

        Hi Alistair,

I use the 314mm discs due to running standard 16" wheels. There are 2 slight advantages in running the 323mm disc and 2 slight disadvantages.

        Advantages:
        1. Slightly better braking efficiency, since you pads can be positioned further from the centre of rotation.
        2. Slighly better heat disipation through the larger overall surface area

        Disadvantages:
        1. Slightly heavier discs
        2. Will not fit under standard 16" Avus wheels

In answer to your part number question, GSF stock both the Brembo and Zimmerman Audi A8 314mmx30mm discs, for the same price (£30 each plus VAT). They are both listed on the website. I choose the Zimmerman over the Brembo, as I heard from several sources that they do more testing and make a slightly higher grade disc...don't have any proof of that though.

        60295 BRAKE DISC-VENTED 314mm B = the Zimmerman
        62398K BRAKE DISC-VENTED 314mm = the Brembo

        Hope this helps

In addition to Si's comments above over the difference between Brembo and Zimmerman discs, IIRC the Brembo disc's hat isn't vented whereas the Zimmerman is.

Is that right Bry, remember me you and Andy compairing our discs at Stanford Hall, Andy's didn't have a vented hat whereas mine did

Vented or lightened? Or is it vented as in "more contact area between hat and air"? I know what it looks like, what's the theory behind it? I actually thought it was weight savings and not "airflow".

I've no idea behind the reason for this, though I know Andy (T2Andy) said he wasn't as impressed with his setup as I was with mine.

                  16' Avus's

                  Hi guyz !!!

After reading all this info, is it correct to assume then that 314x30mm discs with Boxster S calipers fitted with RS2 carriers WILL fit under a 16' inch Avus wheel without having to use spacers or having to modify anything ?

                  Take care !

Just to beat Jas and BRY to it, the answer is NO

In order to use the set up under the standard 16" Avus wheels, you need to use the modified SEAT carriers. The RS2 carriers will only fit under 17" and over.

I dont get this, how do you fit 16'' wheel with winter tyres on rs2 and I know it can be done, is it special 16'' wheel?

                          Hi Robo,

AFAIK, there were 2 brake options on the RS2, commonly called the 'small' and 'big' brake versions (the 'small' was standard, the 'big' was available as an option).

                          Small = 304 x 32mm
                          Big = 322 x 32mm

Only the 304mm RS2 discs work under the 16" Avus wheels, the 322mm discs def need 17" Avus alloys..... but I am not sure which 16" wheels were used for the RS2 winter pack.

I also understand that the 314mm setup that is currently working on many S2's on this forum (including minenow ), will ONLY fit under the ABY 16" Avus alloys, i.e. not under the 3B 16" 5-spoke alloys...maybe someone can confirm....suggesting that the inner diameter of various 16" wheels is very different.

In order to use the RS2 carriers and the 16" Avus, you need to turn the discs down to 304mm, hence people opting to machine the SEAT carrier once and use stock 314mm discs, rather than stock carriers and having to turn down new discs every time you warp them (Also, SEAT carriers are less that 1/2 the price of RS2 carriers )

                          Cheers n

THE CORRECT ANSWER IS A RESOUNDING YES-YES-YES.

I have recently fitted GT3 calipers (also know as Carrera or Boxster S) with RS2 carriers and A8 314 x 30 rotors, they are a direct fit with no mods required, to my 16" AVUS 6 spokes (S2 Coupe ABY). You need to get the RS2 solid brake lines also.
Martyn at Vagparts supplied me with the RS2 parts at a very reasonable cost.

What is the gap between the wheel and and caliper, as several folks on here have done that only to find that the caliper rubs on the wheel, especially when hot!
