    Interesting Failure at Combe.

    Hi!,

Whilst wandering around the paddock on Sat, stopped to speak to the chap with the yellow Ur with 20V which was on the QST stand. This was rapid on the track.
It seems that the Movit brake bell had fractured around the circumference nearest the hubface. It didn't seem to have detached itself completely.
Not sure of the cause but perhaps expansion? I know it is an extreme use of the brakes, but nevertheless something to bare in mind.

I saw an anti-roll bar and drop link detach themselves from the rear strut and nearly cut through someones wheel

I wonder who that was Maybe something to do with having a 26mm rear ARB! It handled like a boat with no rear ARB!

I caught up with that yellow 20V - What spec was it?

Sounds like Kim didn't have much luck with his cars - another was sent home on the AA truck - It happens to all of us at some point

        Hello!,

Yea! But was that before or after his brake problem!
It did have a 20V conversion and I guess it wasn't stock.
        Floating discs recommended then?

It was in the morning - I think! He was good under braking and cornering, Slower than me on the straights

I have heard a few stories about the Movits failing in one way or another...

Mark - pretend to sleep - it works for me

I've heard a few bad things about MovIt brakes recently. Floating discs are definitely the way forward if you're looking for a proper high performance no expense spared setup.

IIRC the yellow Collins Ur had a tuned S2 20v around 300bhp. Featured in old issue Audi driver mag.
