  • A little warning

I had a bolt fail on a rear caliper. The arrow shows how it failed just at the face of the hub. The result was that the caliper jammed the inside of my wheel. It actually caused a tear in the alloy wheel and caused a blow out. If that had happened at speed, I would have lost control.

To make a long story short don't be a cheap sod like me. Use new bolts to attach the brackets to the hub and to attach the caliper to the bracket. It could save your life!

sounds like a lucky escape, imagine if it was a front that failed given the relative lack of rear brake power can cause that to happen...

Holy Moly! Never seen that happen before!!!

Correct if I'm wrong aren't the bolts back there Grade 10? That grade is as hard as can be. Wonder what caused such a catastrophic failure.
