ok, i've done all the tests and it looks like my bomb needs replacing. is this a part i can buy reconditioned or is it a case of vagparts or a main dealer. i can fit it myself its just the part i was not sure about.

you can get em recond for bout £50 IIRC easy to fit if you dont have a battery in the way,
duno bout the squeek, might be altnator bearing

That Polo advert is, er, .... unusual!
If someone has the link to the company that recons for £50 and that company has been used by the forum members who rate the recon work ok, then can it be posted here please or in the guides and top tips so it can be found easily. I'd love to know of them myself
