As far as I'm aware, they are just vibration damping shims. Preferable, but not strictly necessary...

i think they go between the brakepad and the brakepistons, so yes,(i think) you need those!

I used them, but made the mistake of ordering the RS2 ones, which are smaller and therefore did not fit, so ended up using the old ones from the calipers

            Cheers n

            Si

P.S. If anyone wants half an RS2 kit, as I can only find 2 of them, then I'll sell them at 1/2 price (or double the price to BRY :mischeif: )

For some strange reason when converting cars brakes I have found some cars require them some don't.
You'll know if you need them (and if of course you have Porsche monoblocks fitted) because at very slow (parking) speeds you'll hear a very slight rattle.

These are the anti-squeal shims that Brembo use to reduce brake squeal. They sit between the pistons (the round lugs locate directly in to the pistons) and the back of the brake pad. I tried running without them in my RS2 calipers and I got so much squeal and vibration that it started setting the ABS off at parking speed - utterly bizarre. I put them back in and it's fine now.

Also in theory they'll act as a thermal insulator to reduce the amount of heat that gets back in to the brake fluid, so could possibly help with managing brake fade. Can't prove that though.

One other thing, Brembo also recommend running the pads dry - ie. no copaslip - again for me that just causes more squeal than standing on your cat's tail, so I slapped the stuff on and again it's fine.

Magnetic bits that pull the pads back with the pistons. Were already fitted on mine and I have had no squeal issues o must do something.

It depend's what type of access to them you have . If you have money, you can run custom bells and let's say wilwood rings. They are cheap and ok quality.

This is very good thing and very recomended, however sometimes you just cannot spend such pile of money at once . So here comes dirty trick - you take cheap A8 discs, go to local machine shop (or to the machine room at work), give discs to the oily monkeys you know , they punch fill unneed holes with tablets from soft metal (don't ask me where they get them), drill two new holes for 10 quid, and you run it . When discs wear, same again .

If you are typ85 guy like me - there is more problems . A8 discs not fit. I will post my results when I will finish my saga "Inventing bike or monoblocks on typ85q in the think cheap way".

P.S. Do someone knows how to calculate brake bells for the brakes ? What alloy to use, and how to calculate stiffness. Just curious.
