    Standard Brakes

Well, I tried my best with them, up front, new calipers and discs, rear, new calipers and disc's and their still crap, loads of fade, vague and no stopping power, even when cold. Question is: how could Audi fit these thinking they were OK? So now it's an upgrade, tempted towards AP Racing car kit, pricey @ £1300 but it saves sourcing parts, just canrt live with this standard set-up anymore, bit of a rant, sorry.

You sure the Hydraulic bomb and pump are both tip-top?. These can lead to poor brake performance if there getting a bit 'second-hand' (Bloody dangerous if they're gone or going completely!).
Though the standard anchors aren't the best anyway even when new eh.

If you do decide to go for an AP kit drop me a PM since I had a custom kit made up with 32mm thick disc's adapted from standard kit and can work out a little cheaper I think too.
