Looking to upgrade my pads to some fast road ones or some thing after just buying my s2, funds are not up to a set of 996's

£300, IMHO thats a waste of money. If you are staying with OEM brakes then get OEM pads and discs. Save up for the 996's. Just my 2p worth.

my point is that if you dont have enough money for 996 brakes cheaper option for the standard size caliper's this would be a good option, 996 brakes,move-it brakes are very expensive and take along time to save up for so by the time these wear out you might have the money for them.Or try hi-spec 4 pot's for 700 sqid

Why waste your money on Hi-Spec (and all the hassles that come with their products) when a mono conversion costs the same???

If funds do not stretch to a 996 conversion then stick with oem parts and make sure they are working as they should.
Basically get it working as it was designed, then if not happy with the performance then upgrade.

im not saying buy hi-spec just used as an example of cheaper 4 pot's, i just think that if your staying with standard caliper's for a while improve them with better discs and pad's for more affective braking or even just go for x drilled discs from black diamond with there pad's are even cheaper anything has to be better than standard!

From someone who went the grooved/drilled disc and fast road pads route first then finding 500 quid for mono's, i would have to say don't waste your money on the standard sized upgrades, as above get stock working properly and put up till you can change for proper brakes. IMO uprated standard stuff sized is overpriced and on the whole not much better than good condition oe stuff.

But thats nearly 300 quid and you'll still have crap brakes, if you look hard enough you could do the 996 conversion for another 100.

standard oem discs and pagid fast road pads was the best value for money on the stock setup to be honestl. PAds were £48 from GSF and lasted well, dusted loads but they do work better than stock pads. I was using zimmerman cross drilled discs but to be honest i didnt notice any difference and the £98 i paid for mintex 1144 pads which were on the car just before i changed to 996/ds2500 setup were wooden and overpriced!!!

start getting creative with finding a used set of 996 monos and like Corey says you can do it for just over £400.

@ terry - If you want a cheap option for a while change the pads and get some BFgoodgrich braided brake lines made - these will also come in handy when you do upgrade to the mono's
It will improve brake feel a touch for you.

The bottom flexi won't fit the new calipers if he gets Porsche or Movit.

i think that if your looking for bigger brakes even if you get caliper's for 996 at 400 pound that does'nt include brake lines, disc's,pad's or mounting bracket so would cost up to a grand and there not reallyreadly availabe! shame the brakes are not as affective as my golf mk2 g60 brakes, not only does my golf kane s2's up to 60 it also stop's harder as well.just my 2p
