  • S2 brake replacement!!

    I got this problem:

    I had a Audi 90 89 B3 quattro 2,3e 10v
I have changed every thing into S2 3b exept the brakes..
I got the girling 60 s2 calipters and ebc cheramic redstuff discs and pads.
The discs have 4 bolts on 108. But it dosen't fit..

I know I have to change the "spindel"
But can I use the spindel from a coupe quattro 20v? or any coupe quattro? as long as there is a B4..

anyone got the part i need? or know what my problem is?

Not sure what you need, all S2's had 5 stud wheels, 90 and Coupe 20v's had 4x108mm studs. I assumed the 10v 90 was also 4x108?

yeah it have 4 on 108...
but that is not realy the problem..

The calipter wont fit because the disc is to close the calipter..

It may be worth investigating using the porsche 996 calipers and different discs straight off

fair enough. you would only need calipers for front and suitable 4 x 108 discs to fit

yeah, agree.. but.. my problem now is when i mount the 4 x108 disc (EBC redstuff) wich I allredy have , its to close to the calipter.. the disc need to be a few mm away from the calipter to fit right..

but does the porsche calipter fit on brakes with 4 bolts on 108?

Hey! there is a difference in the offset between B3 and B4 discs! the problem is not in the caliper or in the mounting bracket!

The 996 calipers just need the right diameter and offset disc to suit. The PCD is down to individual discs. or have I missed understood?

Ext - Wab runs (or should I say used to run by the time he is finished) porsche calipers with 4 stud discs.

Maybe there's a chance to play with B3/100 (they use same) G60 caliper carrier ? It shouldn't be very expensive at the brakers. Measure your "bad", and just check at the scrapyard before buyng.

The Audi 90 used a different disc offset from the Coupe.

                        You can fit a disc from a Audi 90 20v 276x25.

                          Ok I see..
But when you say disc, you mean brake disc?
I need the thing that the brake disc is mounted on I belvie..?
From a coupe quattro 20v.. then the girling 60 and porsche calipter will fit...

                          or Iam I wrong here..

Yes disc means brake disc. The difference is in the hub (the thing that the brake disc is mounted on). It is cheaper and easyer to get a new disc. If you change the hub you will then have 5 bolts.
