So, I was cleaning the car today and thought I would have a gander at the brakes with a view to upgrading.

As I looked at them I was wondering, actually are they the standard or has there been an upgrade. Being a newcomer to ownership I actually have no point of comparison.

So I have taken some photos, anyone able to identify them?





I would have taken the wheel off, however the locking wheel nut key doesn't fit the wrench. Great start huh?

Please excuse the tattyness of it all, haven't had a chance to clean it all up yet.

im on std fronts, and in need of the 996 upgrade.

Thought it would be the case, always best to check though!

I am thinking they will fit nicely on my mate's 96 Golf GTI 8v once they leave the S2.
