Mot Time!!!

hi everyone
just i couple of questions regarding the mot(ing) of the s2!
1)do you have to have the rear wiper fitted and working????
2)The abs light should come on when you start the engine the go off???
3)If you have clear indicators you should have orange bulbs fitted?

oh and the new rules only give you 12hours to fix any problems,otherwise you have to pay for a retest?
open to all answers!!!!!!!

1) Not sure mine has ever been tested 2) Yes..... 3) Not so sure on this but i would think the min is for it to flash orange regardless of the colour of lense

Yes on point 3, if the bulbs dont flash orange it's a failure.

2)YES... an ABS warning lamp being displayed is an instant failure

The rules have changed significantly on the retest issue. You have up to 24 hours to return the vehicle for a retest, but this is only on list of certain items. If the issue is not on this list (or you are outside the 24 hours) then it is a compulsary retest and therefore a new fee. If it is on the list, then only that item needs to be tested and you should not be charged.

As it happens, both the ABS and the indicators are on the list, so you will get 24 hours to return with them fixed.

nope i think you will find on turning the electircs on the battery, (!) and ABS light all illuminate, then if left or turned over, they all go out including the ABS. You can keep it showing on the 3b by pressing the dash button to cancel the ABS.

Yes, the ABS light comes on unit the engine fires (or ignition is on - can't remember which). Does on mine anyway.
