  • Tarox conversion part II

I rang up Red dot on Monday to see what sort of setup i was going to get for my money. The said the conversion was a 328mm disc with four pot Brembos,it all comes complete with pads and hoses.

I rang up Hi spec and for the same conversion it was £650+vat,on top of that you had to buy hoses and pads too. That was only a 314mm disc.

Looks like some bigger brakes could well be getting fitted.

    Any thoughts on this conversion??

    Cheers

    Chris,

How much is the red-dot conversion then?

Does it include brackets and does it need disc top hats?

Also do you have 17"+ wheels already as 328mm discs will not fit under 16" OEMs.

Yeah i've just got some 17'' RS4 reps not long ago. Basically for the conversion i'd have to take my car down to the factory near London, think its on white heart lane, and leave it with them for a couple of days.

My mates old man knows the boss so i can get the conversion for £647 complete, that includes everything. Its a drive in drive out job!

Aah - looked into red dot before the porsche thing took hold.

Dominic there seemed a good guy & was quite helpful (to begin with).
Calipers they use are 'Grand Turismo' style which fit 28mm thick disks. They also have internal fluid crossovers so no tubes. However they don't seem quite as meaty as the porsche monoblocs.

This conversion from Red Dot Has been very popular with the subaru community & they have quite a few sets between em now....
.....see here for more feedback on em....

          basically calipers look like

Yeah, whoops, got muddled up between the two .

Take it you've got the Porsche setup? Think i'd save about £200 on the red-dot setup, might get some more feed back from them.

They tell you there not connected or have no ties but i know different

            Cheers for the feed back.
