New brake pads - 996 brakes

Time for new brake pads for the 996 conversion. Currently have Textar pads and have been quite happy with them, although anything would have been better than the standard brakes!! I've had Mintex and Pagid fast road pads before on other cars and have been happy with them and I'm aware that some people on here like the Ferrodos (what grade??). Looking at doing a track day or two in the near future so thinking of getting something a bit more exotic to take the punishment!

Any recommendations? If so what's the best price people have found?

Ferodo DS2500, Proven products had them for £160 inc vat and delivery when I bought them which was a good price. Been VERY impressed with durability and performance. Seem kind to the discs, do dust quite a bit but they bite from cold and seem to be able to take the odd track session comfortably.

That's some serious wedge with Textars being £45 from GSF! I suppose you get what you pay for at the end of the day.
