I did seriously consider doing away with my ABS system on my 3B S2 in my massive drive to save weight and make the car as simple as possible. In the ended I came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth the hassle to save a couple of kg's top's especially when one can simply switch it off.

As Bowie say's it's a particularly good system and IMO worth retaining, the only time I switched mine off was the odd occasion I drove it in the snow and say to do this in the owners manual.

One thing I am going to try on my B3 80 is fitting a manual steering rack as this isn't inversible and as the car is going to be super light it might make it handle better, there again it could be awful. I shall find out in the future. I have the rack in stock, I believe it cam from a B2 of some description.
