Another quick question: would this be the right cylinder for the 3b s2: https://www.autodoc.co.uk/abs/7793781

Some pics of the cylinder now it’s out: it looks pretty clean - no sign of rust. Will source a new one in any case and report back. If anyone knows a good place to source one that would be great!

Hi All, I still haven't solved the problem. My local garage have tried multiple things are we think it might be down to the ABS. We are trying to find someone who could test the abs system for us. Would anyone have a recommendation?

Appreciate any pointers if anyone knows where I can get the abs pump serviced/checked? Any other ideas also welcome as I’m stumped.

Years ago heard good things about ECU testing ltd. Honest John used to recommend them for abs pumps.

What age are the front felxi brake pipe's? When they get old they can collapse inside and act a bit like a one way valve, though it's normally only one.

It could be a an ABS pump fault or even perhaps the ABS control unit under the rear seat, try driving with that unplugged and see what happens, you'll get an ABS warning light but don't worry too much about that.

Does the car have an ABS deactivation switch as found on models up to about 1992/3?

Just read back through, your car's a 3B so should have the ABS deactivation switch, I'd have tried with the ABS switched off first, if that failed I'd have seen what happen unplugging the control unit.

Though the fact it happened just after you changed the front disc's would make me suspect something to do with them, though it sounds like you've ruled out anything logical.
