A8 345x30 disc stocked by GSF

Just noticed that GSF are now stocking the brembo A8/S8 345x30mm disc at £49.50 ex.

How much work would you need to do to make a 996 caliper running 323mm x 30mm disc accept that disc? :mischeif:

An 11mm spacer and appropriate longer bolts would do it i reckon - all depends on the hat height.

They've been stocking it for a while, speak to Corey he can fit them.

IIRC you need need new caliper mounting brackets and the discs machined to 340mm as 345 wont work with the porsche calipers.

also you need 18" wheels minimum

Corey has a post on the forum with details somewhere.

Looks like they fit under 17" wheels to me?

              Okies..
Was just refering to Coreys pic of them in a 8x17 ET40 rim

Obviously on the car fitment might have been different though.

They only fit certain 17" wheels. The Audi wheels they fitted within where a forged wheel, whereas the S6+ wheels that ended up on the car weren't and there was more metal on the inner diameter made it foul the caliper by 2mm.
Ideally you need an 18" wheel.

As I stated 2 years ago in the original thread the 345 disc will not fit the 996 caliper as the radius of the disc is too great, they must be machined down to 340mm.

The caliper's ended up on an S2 in Australia and the rest of the kit went onto quattroboys S6Avant and has been in use ever since.

yep many moons ago i tried to use the 345 with a renault sourced brembo monoblock caliper but that required machining to fit the radius too. In the end I went down the 996/a8 combination as it was easier.

I'm not going to go changing calipers etc just to bolt this disc up plenty more to do before that becomes an option

                  Cheers
