    Porsche caliper colours

Just been speaking to a porsche tuner/breaker

He has simplified the colour that calipers are painted.

this is a rough guide and is not definitive

    Four standard colours:
Black = Carrera 2 wheel drive etc. 16 and 20 mm pistons 4 pot
silver = Carrera 4 wheel drive etc. 20 and 24 mm pistons 4 pot
red = turbo and RS models bigger pistons 4 pot
Yellow = Turbo S models and ceramic calipers often 6-8 pot

    Hope this helps.

i think the C2 and the C4 actually share the same caliper - just the colour changes.

Monoblocs with smaller pistons come from the 2.5 boxster / 996 rears.

****** knows what this lot come from!

AFAIK the brakes have different colour to match the colour of the car, there was no differens between mine red ones and black ones.

Thats for the red, black and silver ones.

The yellow ones are 6-pistons and from the GT2.

Martin, the piston size could well be that way. It was just a guide.

The person I spoke to paints calipers etc.

Tote, There is a set of yellow GT2 ceramic disks/calipers on the net for £6,500. they have a 200K rotor life!

Beetie that Caliper is for the UK market only that's why it doesn't show in ETKA.
