Changing rear brake pads how easy

Just bought a new set of rear brake pads for my 3b coupe. So before I take it to bits, and end up in the sh##, and useing all sorts of bad lan'guage that even I don't understand, can anyone tell me if this is a straight forword opperation, or do I need any special tools to do the job.

Buy the windback tool for the caliper as its much easier than trying to do it with anything else.

Might be a good idea to get some penetrating fluid of some kind on the bolts before you attempt it. I snapped two bolts in the caliper carriers when I had my S2.

This was only because some nutter has not put any grease on the bolts when they last changed them.

Not good, I take it that you had to drill them out afterwards? bet that was a pain.

I did the rear pads and discs on my 3B a few weeks ago and Im not the most mechanically able and hadnt done the rears before! Mikes site here is an excellent guide!!

Fortuntately I had no probelms with any of the bolts, even the pad carriers. I did buy a wind back tool which I discovered was too small when I was at the point where I needed to use it! However it really wasnt too difficult with a pair of long nose pliars Just give the pedal a lot more pumps than I did before using the handbrake or it'll be up in your armpit!

            cheers

As already mentioned you really need the tool, i borrow one from a good mate but think they are fairly cheap. Bit of a mare without it, have done it at the roadside without and it was raining, you know in the incredible hunk at the start when its raining and he hurts his hand changing the tyre, well.............................................. ......... Defo buy/borrow the proper wind back tool.

The tool cost me about £15 from GSF iirc. it came with several end pieces that would fit different makes/models hole spacings. Great bit of kit and a lot easier I imagine than other methods!

What's the problem? I've never had a problem lining up the holes and getting the wheels on. Don't you have your original tool kit? You should have one of these in there:
