GT3 with 360mm discs on my Avant

Been busy with it for a few months now, to find somebody to make the adapters, and found a person nearby my place.

First bought me a pair of 2nd hand GT3 Porsche calipers with still good pads on EBay for little money. Also got my hand on a pair of 360x34mm Zimmerman discs in 5x112mm

I had the option to take drilled discs, but I found it nog worth the money and I have heard mixed experiences of drilled discs (annoying noise), so decided to stick to non-drilled discs for now.

See here the difference in disc size from my 304mm RS2 Small Reds compared to my new GT3 360mm setup

Since the GT3 calipers are designed for 345mm maximum, I had to take 2-3 mm off the top from the brake pads, so they line-up well with the discs.

The new and final caliper brackets, that needed some adjustment after the prototype-fitment

I also had to buy 4 pieces of longer bolts to fit the GT3's with the new off-set using 360mm discs and the new brackets.

Just a view of how it all fits and the discs can move freely within the caliper.

The brackets are painted black, so they are a bit more protected. I would have loved to give them a better finish like anodising them, but I only had this weekend off during my summer holidays and most anodisers are closed or have long lead-times right now.

A tight fit, but still 2 mm clearance in case the discs expand because of heating.

360mm and GT3 calipers in my 18" S8 Avus wheels fits perfect with 5mm clearance between rim and calipers

                      The end result

Next thing will be braking in the new discs. On my first test drive the braking felt the same as with the Small Reds, so they can still be operated normally and with light feet

Thanks go to Nero for helping me sorting out the right materials.

What went into the adapter bracket? Very nice pick and good execution as well.
