Hi guys,
Am on holiday at the moment down near Lands End, my brake pad wear indicator came on just as I started the 350 mile journey down here. At what sort of brake pad level do the wear indicators come on?
I've been trying to get some brake pads fitted while I am down here without much luck. Had the usual "yeah mate we can do brake pads no problems, just bring it down here in the morning" followed by "nah mate, not seen this brake setup before" after they've had a quick look!
Audi can get pads in for £100 but not in time for my journey home. Not having any luck with the guys at GSF either which I was somewhat surprised about. Does anyone have part numbers or suppliers of the pads I need for people like EBC, Mintex, GSF etc etc??
In theory this should be down to the people I'm paying to fit the brakes to find out, but I keep having the same problem where ever I go, So I've taken matters into my own hands!
I'm guessing it's going to be too late to get them fitted by Thursday which is when I make my return 350 mile journey back to cambridge which is partly why I'm curious at what sort of measurement of brake pad material I would have left to cause the autocheck light to flag up a problem.
If it wasn't for the fact all my tools are at the unit back in Cambridge, I would just do it all myself!
Let me know if you have any ideas!
Cheers
Henry
