    345mm S8/928 GTS

    Hello All,

Been a while since I have been on here since I have purchased a 1990 V8 Quattro with 105k on the motor and automatic (the manuals are ultra rare in the USA 73 made).

I'm working on a set of brakes for the car consisting of 345mm S8 front rotors and 928 GTS calipers up front. The rears are also getting an upgrade to 310mm by 22mm A8q rear rotors with the stock pads and carriers for the time being till I can figure out the b7 S4 stuff.

These brakes just clear the inside of my ATS 6 spoke wheels and the brackets are being finalized with in the week and hopefully the shop can get them finished and back to me with in the next 2 weeks (small shop busy as can be lead times in weeks). I am having the brackets made from 6061-T6 aluminum with time serts in the threaded holes for the caliper. The brackets will also get painted Black to match the large black 928 GTS brembo calipers the rears are a little on the custom part as I have to finish the bracket that takes the stock V8 quattro carrier, pad, and caliper up to clear the 310mm disc and still clear with the ebrake. I'll be getting that solved and ready within the week hopefully issue with the V8 is that the rear discs have a large amount of offset so the caliper has to be pushed out toward the wheel to meet up with the A8 disc.

I'll have pictures up later this week.

    Pictures for all of you.

The rear with the pads mocked up a little high (fixed in the next gen of the bracket).

the fronts stock in the ATS wheels so I could check for clearance (12mm spacers needed).

Mocked up with a bracket I got for 55 USD (for 13" rotors with 996 rear calipers)

and the clearance with above bracket between caliper and rotor

    and the bracket

17" by 8" ATS somethings. require 12mm in the front to clear. I mean to not hit at all it's a very tight fit. I should be running 18" more then likely, but I don't like the poorer ride quality.

They do fit under the 17" wheel, but I'm looking at the fact that if I ever really bent a front wheel I might not get the calipers out without destroying the wheel.
