    brake problems

hi lads just need to pic your brains. i've got brake problems i have 996 mono blocks and 323-32mm discs but when braking they vibrate and shake the car like mad and when coming to a stop from slow speed the car just feels like the front of the car is nodding. there is a slight vibration felt in the brake pedal as well. my first thoughts were i've warped them already as they have not been on that long with a 1000 miles on them or so. any way had them apart the weekend checked the discs and no signs of them being warped at all there is a very small amount of wear (and i meen tiny i can just feel it with my finger nail) on one side of one of the discs and it is only a quater of the way round. i have checked for run out but can't realy see any thing. just ordered myself a dti to check for sure. what are your thoughts is there any thing else that could cause this or has any one else experienced problems similar. i really can't belive they are warped already as they are ment to be suited for track days and i have been nowhere near a race track and have not driven any different when driving with standard brakes and didn't have any problems then

did you clean the hub(wire brush and sand paper i used both) where the back of the disc sits on? if this is not done the disc is not sitting on the hub properly and will eventually warp the disc even driving at slow speeds.
There is a great link here on how to bed in your discs im on the hunt for it!

also you discs might be 30mm not 32mm?

did you take 1mm off of the pins that hold the pads as they rub on the disc?

      hope your discs not warped!!!

i saw that link it was a good wright up on how to bed in brakes and that is how i beded in my brakes. the hubs were cleaned when the discs were put on origanally and recleaned them at the week end to make sure. i think the pins where taken down already and there is no clearance problems there.

i have just done my upgrade also and im driving very slowly to give the pads and discs a chance to bed in. I understand thats it's a very important process.
At high speed then you brake do they shudder?

use the greens, £10+VAT each. There are alternatives though

I have all the tools you need, which you can borrow. I was using the blue top mounts but they colapsed in no time . now using green ones to see if they last longer.

right have gone over my brakes really thoroughly today wile replacing my top mounts.
i have checked every thing for run out with a dti. the hud has no run out pritty perfect . put the disc back on and put the dti on the outside of the bell not really any run out but on the edje of the disc there is about 0.2 mm / or 8 thou. is this really enough to make the car shake like mad when braking or should i be looking else where?
