my red brake lamp warning is flashing all the time now. Is that most likely the bomb on the way out?
Brakes & streeing still servoed but I supose thats only when engine is running?
    Any idea of cost?
(im having problems getting definate prices fron VAG parts just now! asked a price of h/lamp glass. was given one & then at online shop a different price!. Dont answer any emails asking about difference?)

I'd say it was your ABS controller. I will dig out a link to a good firm if you PM me.

on this same topic, i have a recurring (!) brake warning on Autocheck if i slam the brakes on. guessing this is low brake pressure, the pedal is a bit spongey and could do with new fluid and a bleed some time soon

I noticed yesterday my ABS dash light came on when cornering very hard in the wet - i was not on the brakes, but the steering went light as i breached the grip limit - could this be just the wheel speed sensors picking up variance in wheel speed due to loss of traction?
I couldn't quite understand why it came on? Not done so again though, and I have been trying hard to prokoke it
