Looking very tasty sir! I hope to not be far behind you now!

P.S. Saw a great bleed tool on an american site with a spring and ball bearing config, screw it to the bleed nipple, pump the pedal until no more bubbles then move the next caliper, the spring and ball act as a non return valve - looked neat!
Hey, that all looks excellent - nice black calipers (mine are black too), good looking discs, and your brackets look really solid, nice one.
You got a bargain there price wise too I think.
What pads are you using?
My brake pedal was really spongy the first time - I'd done a whole system fluid change, and I guess it wasn't bled correctly - I've bled it 3 times since then and it's rock solid now. The nice thing about those calipers is you can bleed the outside valves without even having to take the wheel off...
Ex S2 owner, now running around in an A4 Avant quattro...
forgot to say what pads im using, ive edited the list.
@Dan, the strut to body lines are still stock, when i get some braided ones made i'll change brake fluid as well, had to get them on asap as my stock pads were non existent
@steve, brackets are my own design, bit chunkier than RS2's, made from 6082 T6 aircraft spec aluminium, hard anodised then helicoiled.

Greg, thats all you need to order, you have to slightly bend the RS2 lines to get them to fit 996 calipers because the RS2's connections are not in the centre of the caliper. there is 2 connections on the strut, using the RS2 pipes you do away with one of these connections so you just have the pipe from the caliper which goes round the back of the strut then a flexi pipe from there to the body.
I have a set of Martin's mounting brackets for my 314mm A8 disks and 996 calipers. I am making the hard lines ( same as RS2) but a bit longer. ( the RS2 used modified 968CS calipers which had a different fluid entry position).
Anyway, the brackets are fantastic and look very sexy in dark grey hard anodising.
I still have to rebuild the new hubs yet cos I'm changing from 4 stud to 5 stud as well.

Just a quick word of warning chaps ( and chapesses) Halfords stock of tools has dropped massiveley since they have been taken over. Not a lot of real stuff left now I'm afraid. They used tro have a great selection of useful tools.
